Driver With 10 License Suspensions Nearly Runs Into Police Car; Other Arrest Reports

New York State Police report that a trooper patrolling I-81 pulled alongside a man having trouble staying in his own lane Friday morning around 7.

The driver, identified as John Crabtree, 48, of Syracuse, reportedly drifted into the trooper’s lane, nearly hitting the patrol car.

Crabtree was stopped and ticketed, including Driving While Impaired by Drugs, Driving Without a License and Driving While his Registration was suspended.

Troopers say by their count, Crabtree’s license had been suspended ten times.

He was taken to the Cortland County Jail without bail and is to appear in Marathon Town Court Wednesday.

A man from Dryden was arrested by State Police Sunday morning around 11.

Troopers report the arrest follows their investigation into a harassment report from April 20 in Dryden.

Randy Lattin, 41, is charged with harassment and threatening another person.

Cortland Police Lieutenant Rick Troyer told X101 News about a traffic stop that led to an arrest Saturday.

Carlton Lenahan, 21, from Ithaca, was stopped at a red light at Tompkins St. and Main St. when he was observed making a right turn from the left lane.

Police say that Lenahan was impaired by drugs and had marijuana.

Lenahan was ticketed for drug charges and the improper right turn.

He was released to appear in to court on July 3.

Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies report finding drugs and paraphernalia during a traffic stop just before 1 am Monday.

The vehicle was stopped on Route 13 in Cortlandville for an equipment violation. Two passengers were arrested: 45-year old Sheldon O’Neil of Marathon, for having marijuana, drugs and paraphernalia.

28-year old Ryan Larrabee was charged with Possession of Marijuana and a Controlled Substance.

Both are to return to Cortlandville Court July 9.
