Driver Taken to Upstate Hospital After Dump Truck Rollovers on Main Street in Freeville

Around 10 in the morning on Friday, Freeville Fire and Dryden Ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and Upper Creek Road for a vehicle rollover. It was also reported the crash had taken down a power line. Arriving on scene, Freeville Fire says they found a large dump truck had rolled, taken out a power line, and landed upwards again.

State Police tell X101 News an investigation found the driver of the dump truck, 66 year old Keith Marquis of Newfield, was driving south on Main Street when the dump truck went off the road, struck a ditch, and he lost control. The dump truck would continue south, crossing Upper Creek Road, where it rolled over, hitting a stop sign, a NYSEG utility pole and a guiderail.

Maquis would be later transported to Upstate University Hospital, State Police say.
