Driver Arrested For DWI After Going Wrong-Way on I81 in Cortlandville

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28 year old Dakota W. Schreiner of Marathon following a traffic stop on I81 in Cortlandville. Back on October 19th, Schreiner was stopped around 1 in the morning near the 49.7 mile-marker on I81 Northbound in Cortlandville for driving the wrong way.

During the traffic stop, officers determined Schreiner was driving while he was intoxicated. Officers also learned he had a suspended license. Schreiner was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st, DWI, Driving with .08% or More of Alcohol, all Felonies, Reckless Driving, a Misdemeanor, and several infractions.

Schreiner was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later arraigned via the Centralized Arraignment Process; he was released on his own recognizance.
