Local businessman and community servant Donald Richards has been appointed to the Cortland County Industrial Development Agency’s board of directors.
County legislators appointed him last month to replace IDA board member Steve Servies, who stepped down from his seat after retiring from a senior position at Gutchess Lumber Company.
Richards, 61, is owner and general manager of Complete Construction Concepts at 137 S. Main St., Homer. The company employs 18 people.
He is also a member and past president of the Cortland Rotary Breakfast Club; a former Homer planning board member; and a past chair of both the Board of Deacons and Trustees of the Homer Congregational Church
Additionally, Richards volunteers for committees and projects at the Center for the Arts — along with many other local organizations.
His newest duties also include serving as a director of the Cortland County Business Development Corporation.
The BDC brought on clerk of the county legislator Eric Mulvihill last week to serve as an economic specialist.
