DMV Issuing Refunds to Vets Who Added Veteran Designation to Licenses

Local News

The New York State DMV will issue refunds to veterans who paid to add a veteran’s distinction to their driver’s license or non-driver identification cards.

Veterans who paid the $12.50 state fee will have refunds sent to them automatically by the DMV.

In 2014, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law the elimination of any fees associated with a veteran’s request to add the distinction to identification cards and drivers’ licenses.
