DeRuyter Board To Discuss Proposed Budget Wednesday Evening

The DeRuyter Board of Education meets for a public hearing Wednesday evening, on its proposed school budget.

The Board also named three finalists out of 12 candidates for Superintendent. Interviews and meetings with school groups are in two weeks.

David Brown started as a music and theatre teacher at DeRuyter in 1989 and is currently Chief Administration Officer and director of fine and performing arts at Ithaca Schools. He’s also president of the state school music association.

Brett Fingland’s has been an assistant principal at Cortland Alternative School and principal at Dryden High. He’s principal of Weedsport Junior-Senior High now.

And the third finalist is Kimberly O’Brien, currently the principal of DeRuyter’s elementary school and the district director of curriculum development. Her experience includes Moravia, Tully and Advanced Study at SUNY Cortland.
