Dept. of Taxation and Finance Encouraging Taxpayers to Use Quick Pay
Taxpayers are being encouraged by the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance to use Quick Pay, which is a free and convenient way to pay both personal and business tax bills directly from their bank accounts without the need to create an online services account.
“Quick Pay is a simple payment option for taxpayers to pay their New York State tax debts,” said New York State Department of Taxation and Finance Acting Commissioner Amanda Hiller. “Quick Pay is available online 24/7 – making it easier than ever to pay their tax debts.”
Those who have received a tax bill are asked to pay the bill before its due date to avoid any penalties and interest. The Department of Taxation and Finance says in order to make a payment via Quick Pay, they will need the case or assessment number from their bill and the following information: Social Security number, filing status, mailing zip code, and the taxpayers first and last name.
For businesses paying using Quick Pay, they will be required to provide the following: business taxpayer ID (such as an EIN), business taxpayer name, two additional data points from a filed return, and business owner or officer information (taxpayer ID and first and last name).
More information about Quick Pay may be found at Tax.NY.gov.
