Deadlines amended for June absentee voting

Local News

Governor Cuomo signed legislation extending the deadline to submit absentees for the upcoming primaries until the day of the election. To be counted, ballots must be postmarked by June 23rd.

The Tompkins County Democratic Committee will host its final public forum tonight for Democratic candidates in the race for the 125th State Assembly District Seat.

That’s planned for 7 pm on the group’s YouTube channel.

School budget votes were also pushed back until June 16th by mail, which otherwise would’ve been due to each district by 5 pm today.

Those turning in absentee ballots by hand must still do so by 5 p.m. today, but ballots can now be received by mail until 5:00 p.m. on the 16th.

Anything postmarked on or before June 16 but not received by 5:00 p.m. on that day cannot be counted.
