Cuyler Woman Arrested by State Police After Theft at Walmart

The New York State Police have arrested a Cuyler woman back on December 1st, after a reported theft by store employees at Walmart on Bennie Rd. in the Town of Cortlandville on November 30th.



Through an investigation conducted by troopers, it was determined that 30 year old Cortnee L. Sims of Cuyler, scanned only a few items that brought a total to $60 dollars, but then attempted to exit the store with over $700 dollars in merchandise.

Sims was stopped by store employees before getting out of the building, but proceeded to leave and left all the merchandise behind. State Police were able to locate her at her residence and Sims was arrested.

She was charged by State Police with Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor and was transported to the Cortland County Jail for Centralized Arraignment and Processing.
