Cuyler Woman Arrested After Passing Counterfeit $100s

Back on October 7th around 9:50 at night, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Dollar General at 5795 Route 13 in Cuyler for a fraud complaint.


An investigation found 46 year old Heather A. Hill-Yackel of Cuyler, has passed two $100 bills at the store. She then left the store before police arrived. Five days later, a warrant was issued for her arrest by the Sheriff’s Office.

On November 2nd, officers located Hill-Yackel and took her into custody. She is facing a charge of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 1st, a Felony. She was transported to the Cortland County Jail and then later arraigned. She was then released on her own recognizance and is due to appear in Cuyler Town Court later this month.
