Customers at both Market 32 and Price Chopper grocery stores have donated over 18,500 pre-packed food bags for local food pantries, including for Catholic Charities of Cortland. The food bags were available for purchase by customers from March 30th through April 20th.
The bags were priced at $10 each and included PICS brand items that are the most requested by food banks and pantries. Those items included: elbow macaroni, peanut butter, chicken noodle soup, canned tuna, kidney beans, and chunk chicken.
“As a company deeply rooted in the communities we serve, Market 32 and Price Chopper are committed to helping address food insecurity,” said Pam Cerrone, Market 32 and Price Chopper director of community relations. “Our in-store food drive reflects that commitment, providing an easy and affordable way for customers to give back and support local agencies dedicated to alleviating food insecurity. We’re proud to be part of a collective effort that brings meaningful impact to individuals and families across our six-state footprint.”
