Governor Cuomo announced yesterday (December 17) that he will push for the full legalization of recreational marijuana for adult use in New York in the early part of 2019.
The announcement came as part of his “100 Days” agenda, outlining 20 points he’s now asking the state legislature to address in the first 100 days of the next legislative session.
Some estimate that full legalization could bring in as much as $1.3 billion in annual tax revenue to New York.
Other highlights on the “100 Days” agenda:
–Criminal justice reform in New York, including the elimination of cash bail.
–Launch of a $150 billion state infrastructure plan, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs across the state.
–Protection of affordable health care. NY State of Health has now reached a record number for enrollment at 4.7 million.
