Governor Cuomo today (October 17) co-hosted a Regional Cannabis and Vaping Summit in New York City, where he was joined by the governors of Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The new conference was formed to raise relevant issues regarding both topics, in order to explore potential policy options and regional coordination opportunities.
It comes as New York and states across the country face a vaping crisis that continues to worsen, as well as an increasing possibility of legalizing marijuana at both the state and federal levels in the future.
Also in attendance at the event were various officials and legislative leaders from New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey and Colorado.
A special opening ceremony kicked off around 10 a.m., followed by a day full of policy workshops at the Millennium Times Square Hilton, 145 W. 44th Street in Manhattan.
