The State Health Department reported 14 new COVID positive cases as of Wednesday in Cortland County. State data also shows the Central New York region’s 7-day average of cases per 100K population and the 7-day average percentage of positive test results jumped again.
More COVID-19 test kits are coming from the state. Governor Kathy Hochul says 20-million will be distributed through spring, just in case they are needed. Test kits will also be provided to nursing homes, adult care facilities, schools and local governments.
How much did the state help small and micro businesses during COVID? Governor Hochul did the math, finding that 29,000 businesses and for-profit arts and cultural organizations shared a half-billion dollars to keep them running.
