COVID Numbers Continue to Improve

The COVID numbers continue to improve in New York. The State Health Department reported the lowest statewide cases per 100,000 since November 30. Also, the fewest hospitalizations since the day after Christmas, the fewest patients in ICU since the week before Christmas.



The state reports Cortland County with just 2 new positive tests for COVID on Monday, the most recent statistics available. (0 deaths, 110 total)

Cortland County Health added up its work and reports 1,366 vaccine doses were administered during the six week state clinics in Cortland County.

About 23% of children 5-11 years old in Cortland County are vaccinated, compared to more than 53% of those 12-17.

As a reminder – The SUNY Cortland COVID test site remains open weekdays 8:30 to 4 at the Chugger Davis Building. Appointments are encouraged.

You can pick up three free N-95 masks beginning today (Wednesday) at Price Chopper in Cortland. The company is participating in the federal distribution from the Strategic National Stockpile. The company will offer the masks at a table in the center store or at the pharmacy.
