Police arrested two people for a burglary/trespassing incident in the town of Homer on Thursday (June 17) night.
Homeowners returned to their residence just past 8 pm and found a pair of intruders they did not know: 49-year-old Larry Swisher of West Main St in Cortland and 30-year-old Emily Barnard of Center Street in Homer.
Barnard was inside of their home and had stolen food and a plant. Swisher was walking around the property but never entered the home.
Authorities say Barnard also let several dogs out of their kennels, all of whom were located unharmed.
Swisher was released to appear in Homer Town Court on July 16. Barnard was arraigned and released on her own recognizance, as per New York State Bail Reform legislation.
