Cortland County has launched Elevate Cortland, a website part of the county’s work in developing a county-wide strategic development plan. The plan looks to outline a vision, goals, and strategies to advance Cortland County forward.

“This plan will act as a guiding document for county policy making and will direct how to best attract new investment and enrich resident’s quality of life. The county has launched a new website elevatecortland.com and is initiating a public outreach campaign, with five scheduled public meetings”

Those five public meetings will take place throughout the county with residents encouraged to attend the meeting in their area. All meetings will take place from 6pm to 8pm and will begin on Tuesday, March 19th. The dates and locations may be seen below:

  • Tuesday, March 19th: Marathon Civic Center, 11 Brink St. Marathon
  • Monday, March 25th: Beaudry Park Building, Scammell St. Cortland
  • Tuesday, March 26th: Virgil Fire Hall, 1195 W. State Rd. Cortland
  • Tuesday, April 2nd: Truxton Town Hall/Railroad Station, 6290 Railroad St. Truxton
  • Thursday, April 4th: Homer Center for the Arts Community Room, 72 S. Main Street, Homer

Cortland County says each meeting will offer information on the Elevate Cortland Strategic Development Plan and give residents an opportunity to provide comments or ask questions. On top of the meetings, the county will also offer stakeholder meetings and will attend various events for the remainder of the year in an effort for further engagement.
