We may learn tonight (Wednesday) how Cortland County will share the revenue from sales tax with towns and villages.
The Cortland County Legislature’s Sales Tax Sharing Review Committee meets at the County Office Building at 5 pm.
Municipalities want to know how much the county will cut from the revenue side of their budgets.
The Cortlandville Town Board hits the road again tonight (Wednesday), this time for a meeting in Blodgett Mills at 5 pm.
Among items listed on the public agenda, the Board is expected to transfer about $254,000 for expenses at the (under-construction) Gutchess Sports Park that can’t be paid from the town bonding for the project.
Members are also expected to approve hiring a full-time assistant bookkeeper, and to name Kevin McMahon as the town’s full-time code inspector.
The Homer Town Board meets tonight (Wednesday).
County sales tax is on that Board’s agenda.
In addition, Kathy Arnold of Truxton will explain to Board members the landowners side of the concern over proposed new NYSEG high voltage power lines across Cortland County.
Other updates are expected on:
- Renovations to the Town Hall including the stage, front doors and sidewalk
- Recognize the McMahons/E-Z Acres Farm for a recent national award
- Board member Mike Park is to report on Workmen’s Compensation changes
Note, the next month meeting of the Homer Town Board will be moved to July 10 at 6:30 at the Homer Town Hall.
The Marathon Village Board is set to meet tonight (Wednesday) at 7.
