Cortland County officials have resolved issues that led to intermittent outages of both the internet and phone systems last week.
Many local gov’t departments were affected. They were dark starting at approximately 10:30 Tuesday morning (July 13), lasting until systems were fully restored at 7:00 p.m.
In a statement, clerk of the legislature Savannah Hempstead said, “there was no negative impact on the critical public safety infrastructure.”
She added that “911 and Emergency Response communications continued to operate with no interruptions.”
The County is now taking steps to harden the system to circumvent this issue in the future, Hempstead closed.
