Law enforcement from across Cortland County stopped by Guthrie Cortland Medical Center during a shift change on Sunday (April 5) to support local health care workers who put themselves at risk everyday to help others.
Attending the special commemoration were members of Cortland and Homer Police Departments, along with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
The photo above was shared in a Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Office with the following caption underneath:
“Police Officers from Cortland County stopped by Guthrie Cortland Medical Center at shift change yesterday to show their appreciation to all the health care workers, who are risking their own safety treating patients on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak. To all the health care workers across the USA and around the world, thank you. Be safe and stay healthy.”
Cortland City Officer Jesse Abbott, who also leads the Office of Community Oriented Policing, says more initiatives like this are being planned over the coming days and weeks ahead.
