County police were called Thursday night when someone saw a four-year old child wandering through the Walmart parking lot in South Cortland.
Deputies say the child was unharmed.
They found the youngster’s mother in the parking lot, unaware that the child was missing.
She told officers the child was being cared for by Mason Ferguson, who is 19, of McGraw.
Ferguson was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, arraigned and released until Town court next Monday.
A man who apparently didn’t want to leave the Cortland Motel got angry and started punching holes in the walls of his room Wednesday afternoon.
According to information provided by the Cortland County Sheriff’s department, Nicholas Partis, 31, of Homer, was charged with Criminal Mischief.
Police say he caused about $150 damage.
He’s to return to Cortlandville Court in two weeks.
