It will be a busy evening for the Cortland County Legislature during their monthly meeting tomorrow at 6pm at the County Office Building in the City of Cortland.

A wide variety of topics are slated for tonight’s agenda including awarding a bid for phase five of renovations at 22 West Court Street, which will become the county’s Department of Emergency Response & Communications Facility.

From a referral from the Building & Grounds Committee meeting earlier this month, the legislature will review the winning proposal. The committee recommended Boland’s Excavating for the site work on the property with an estimated cost of $426,400. Boland’s proposal was the cheapest option among two other proposals, one from Rasmussen Excavation of $509,030, and Siteworx for $525,800.

Funding for the contract of phase five will come from a grant from the New York State Department of Homeland Security with no added cost to the county.

The Legislature will also look to pass a resolution in support of Cortland Harvest and Cortland County Agriculture. Both programs support local producers and will help promote locally made products for consumers, most noticeably with the Cortland Harvest logo.

With county support, programming, promotion, and sustainability for Cortland Harvest will consist of advertising Cortland Harvest on the county website, providing space on city buses (if available), working with local organizations (IDC, Chamber) to further promote the organization, promotional materials during county events and offices, and more.
