During their meeting last Tuesday, September 6th the Cortland County Highway Committee approved construction of a new dock at Dwyer Memorial Park in Little York, NY.

Cortland County has owned and maintained 85 acres of land at Little York lake, which is now known as Dwyer Memorial park since September 1941. Originally purchasing the property for $7,500.

The park has continued to see increased usage from the public year over year and the dock at the park has become dilapidated and is now in need of replacement. The Highway Committee had recommended to the county that a new dock is needed and would benefit those who visit the park.

The County legislature approved a review and approval of construction agreements for a new dock at Dwyer Park, but not to have costs exceed $100,000 dollars.

The replacement dock will be budgeted for the 2023 budget.
