The Cortland County Health Department has released their 2022-2024 strategic plan for the community to review.
The top three priorities of the Health Department are Public Health Workforce, Communication, and Collaboration. The plan overall will help guide the direction needed for the department and priorities for the coming years.
Part of the public health workforce is developing and maintaining a qualified and diverse public health workforce and building a supportive work environment.
For communication, the goal is to enhance effective, engaging, and inclusive health education and behavior change communications between the Health Department and community members, increase the visibility of services provided and work to improve the understanding of the role of public health within the community.
The collaboration the Cortland County Health Department is prioritizing is to partner with organizations to implement, support, and evaluate health improvement plans in the community. There will also be work to increase the collaboration between the Health Department and the County Legislature.
