Small businesses of five employees or less — including owners — can still apply for a chance at help funding under the Cortland County Microenterprise Assistance Program (MAP).
The initially set April 1 deadline for pre-applications has been extended through at least April 15.
County legislators voted in January to pursue up to $300,000 through the NYS Community Development Block Grant Program. This would avail up to $35k per recipient.
Both new and existing businesses are eligible. Officials say the more who apply, the better their chances of being selected for an award by the state.
Thoma Development Consultants is once again handling the process, after helping secure funds through the same program in 2017-18 for the county.
