Two City of Cortland Men have been arrested after officers with the Cortland County Drug Task Force along with assistance from the City of Cortland Police Department, Cortland Sheriff’s Office, and Homer Police Department conducted a narcotics search warrant in the City of Cortland.
The search warrant was done yesterday, January 18th at a residence on Charles Street. The Drug Task Force says in a release that during the search officers found cocaine, meth, methadone, molly, packaging materials, scales and an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say the value of the drugs found is about $4,200.
The search also found two billy clubs inside the residence. Two were arrested during the search, 56 year old Elijah P. Sharp and 50 year old William R. Hart Jr. both of Cortland.
Sharp was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th, 2 Counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd, both Felonies, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, 2 Counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd, and Unlawful Sale, Possession, and/or Use of Dangerous Substances or Synthetic Drugs, all Misdemeanors.
Hart Jr. was charged with one felony of Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance in the 3rd. Both men were transported to the Sheriff’s Office where they are currently awaiting arraignment at the time of the press release.
The Cortland County Drug Task Force says the investigation is ongoing.
