The Cortland County Drug Task Force conducted a narcotics search warrant last Wednesday, November 16th at a residence located in the Town of Taylor on Route 26.
While conducting the search warrant, officer’s discovered nearly 8 grams of crystal meth, packaging materials, scales and an undisclosed amount of US Currency. The street value of the drugs found at the residence is worth over $800 dollars.
Officer’s arrested 43 year old Elijah J. Closson and 43 year old Rachael E. Norton, both of Taylor NY. Both were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, a Felony, and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, a Misdemeanor. Northon, though, was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, a Misdemeanor.
Both suspects were taken by officer’s to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and were processed and then released due to New York State Bail Reform. Both are expected back at Town of Taylor Court at a later date.
