Two Cortland residents face felony Welfare Fraud charges following a three-month investigation by the Cortland County Sheriff’s office and the Department of Social Services.
Ciarra Walker, 27, and Jak’Wan Walker, 20, were arrested on Thursday.
Sgt. Jason Newcomb reports they were charged with Welfare Fraud and Grand Larceny, both felonies.
Newcomb says they are accused of failing to report income and job information and received more than $1,100 in benefits they were not entitled to.
The Walkers are to appear in Cortland City Court Wednesday.
