Cortlandville Man Facing Criminal Contempt Charge

A Cortlandville man is facing a criminal contempt charge after officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a harassment complaint back on April 5th. Officers responded to Homestead Ave in the Town of Cortlandville for the complaint last Saturday evening. 

During their investigation into the complaint, officers determined 44 year old Richard A. Moore of Cortlandville, had violated an Order of Protection. Officers arrested and charged Moore with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd, a Misdemeanor. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed, arraigned, and later released on his own recognizance. Moore is due in Cortlandville Town Court next week.
