A Cortlandville man is facing harassment and child endangerment charges following a domestic incident where he allegedly fired a gun outside the home.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were called to 1949 Loring’s Crossing Road on Sunday, for a dispute between 26 year old Patrick McCann and his girlfriend. The couple’s one-year-old child was present during the incident.
Police say the couple got into an argument over a firearm in the home. McCann shot the gun outside the home, but did not threaten to use the weapon on anyone in the house.
According to police said McCann did make threats to harm himself and his girlfriend.
McCann was charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child, he was arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court and released. A judge issued an order of protection for the woman and the child.
