Cortlandville Man Arrested For Violating Order of Protection – Found With Firearm

Just before 10pm on Friday, November 17th, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle located on Blodgett Mills Road in the Town of Cortlandville.

An investigation found 29 year old Cody B. Carroll of Cortlandville, was violating an order of protection as he was in the presence of a protected party. A search found Carroll also to be in possession of a firearm that he was prohibited to possess.

Carroll in addition to violating an order of protection and possessing a firearm was also operating the vehicle without a license as his driving privileges were revoked.

Officers arrested Carroll and charged him with Criminal Contempt in the 1st, a Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, both Misdemeanors, and numerous traffic infractions.

He was taken to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and was awaiting arraignment at the time of this release by the Sheriff’s Office.
