On Friday, June 30th, officer’s from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disorderly person at Auto Zone on Route 281 in Cortlandville.
On arrival, officers learned from employees the suspect in the incident had made verbal threats towards employees and also had caused damage to merchandise inside.
As officers were investigating the suspect, officers learned the suspect had provided them with false identification. They were able to then identify him as 41 year old David P. Trapp of Cortlandville, and found Trapp had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Trapp fled from officers on foot, but was apprehended by officers a short distance later. He was arrested and charged with Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Harassment in the 2nd, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th, all Misdemeanors.
Trapp was later issued appearance tickets and is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
