Cortlandville Man Arrested After Making Threats to Victim – Found in Possession of Drugs

Just after 6:30 on Sunday, June 9th, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance on Holiday Drive in Cortlandville.


An investigation into the disturbance found 32 year old Ethan A. Monroe of Cortlandville, had made threats to a victim, the victim was known to Monroe. He also made the threats while in the presence of a child.

As officers were arresting Monroe, he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Monroe is facing charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, both Misdemeanors, and Harassment in the 2nd, a Violation.

Monroe was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he was then arraigned the following day through the Centralized Arraignment Process and was released on his own recognizance. He is due in Cortlandville Town Court next month.
