Cortlandville Fire Responds to Fire at Pyrotek on Route 13

Cortlandville Fire was dispatched to Pyrotek at 641 Route 13 in Cortlandville for a fire alarm activation around 11:40 in the morning Monday. As firefighters were enroute, dispatch informed them there was a fire located in the paint-room of the facility. 

Due to the size of the building, a 2nd alarm was dispatched to bring in additional manpower and equipment from neighboring fire departments. Upon arrival at the scene, Cortlandville Fire learned most of the fire was knocked down due to employees utilizing fire extinguishers. The 2nd alarm was then canceled. 

Cortlandville Fire says work was taking place inside the building near one of the paint booths where a spark then ignited the filters located in the pit of the booth. No injuries were reported. Cortlandville assisted in ventilating the building prior to clearing the scene.

Cortlandville added this fire only highlights the importance of having fire extinguishers in your home or workplace.
