Cortland Youth Bureau Receives $15K Donation From Yaman Foundation for Yaman Park Upgrades

The City of Cortland Youth Bureau says after a generous donation from the Yaman Foundation, the front entrance to Yaman Park will be redone. Part of the work will have the current ticket booth, which the Youth Bureau says has been there since 1968, will be removed. Entry to Yaman Park has been free and the booth is no longer needed, Andrea Piedigrossi told X101 News.

Replacing the old booth will be new signage for the park that will also be illuminated. Existing curbing will be removed where the new sign will be placed and new blacktop added. The current sign located on the right side of the entrance will be removed with a flower bed replacing it.

“The Yaman Foundation, particularly Dotty, has been an invaluable contributor to the Youth Bureau for many years. We extend our sincere gratitude for their unwavering support and the significant contributions they have made to the park.”

Piedigrossi said to X101 News.

In total, the Yaman Foundation donated $15,000 for the project. Additionally, the flagpole at the park will be relocated to behind the new sign.
