Cortland Works Career Center Announces Free In-Person Computer Workshops
The Cortland Works Career Center on Main Street in Cortland will host free, in-person computer workshops throughout the month of February.
The first workshop will be held Wednesday, February 11, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. and will focus on basic computer skills. Designed for individuals with little or no computer experience, the session will cover computer technology, parts of a computer, using a mouse and keyboard, recognizing common icons, and connecting devices.
A second workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. This session will focus on navigating the internet and is geared toward those who struggle with online tasks such as applications and email. Participants will learn how to conduct internet searches, create and access email accounts, set up online accounts, complete online job searches, and understand internet safety and digital literacy.
In addition, the Cortland Works Career Center will offer a computer lab drop-in on the third Thursday of the month, February 19, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. During this time, visitors can independently search and apply for jobs, with staff available to assist with job searches, online applications, and resume uploads.
