Augustina Rivera was found by a Cortland police officer around 9am on December 23. She was passed out in the driver’s seat when the officer approached the vehicle. The officer noticed bags on the dashboard that are usually associated with drug use.
The officer woke the 27 year old woman up and determined she was under the influence of narcotics. After searching the vehicle, the officer found 41 bags of fentanyl, a bag of cocaine, and multiple electronic scales.
Rivera faces felony possession of a controlled substance, using drug paraphernalia, DWI, and refusing to take a breath test, and other charges.
Rivera was arraigned, released and is scheduled to return to City Court on January 19.
