Cortland Woman Charged With Aggravated DWI – Blood Alcohol Content Greater Than .18

On Thursday, May 15th, around 9:50 in the evening a traffic stop was conducted for both vehicle and traffic infractions on Route 281 in Cortlandville by an officer with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

During the stop, officers determined that the driver, identified as 45 year old Sarah Walter of Cortland, was driving while intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI (BAC of .18 or higher), both misdemeanors. She was also cited for consumption of alcoholic beverage / possession of an open container and no headlights.

Walter was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later released with uniform traffic tickets. She is due in Cortlandville Town Court next month.
