Cortland Woman Arrested on Drug Charge Following Warrant Arrest

A Cortland woman was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, a Misdemeanor, following her arrest for an active warrant. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says around 5:45pm on Monday, October 27th, officers responded to Central Ave. in Cortland in an attempt to locate 40 year old Sarah E. Wacht.

Officers were able to locate Wacht, who had an active warrant for her arrest. When she was taken into custody, the Sheriff’s Office says they found her to be in possession of a controlled substance. Wacht was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later arraigned for her warrant and also issued an appearance ticket for her possession charge.

Wacht is due in Cortland City Court for the possession charge in November.
