Around 8:40 in the evening on December 21st, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident of a car that had traveled off the roadway. First responders who were first to arrive reported no injuries, but did report the operator appeared to be under the influence.
An investigation conducted by officers found the driver, 33 year old Stephanie N. Earl of Cortland, was driving while intoxicated and traveled off the roadway. Officers arrested Earl and charged her with DWI, Aggravated DWI, Speed not Reasonable and Prudent, Failed to Keep Right, and Drove across Hazard Markings.
She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where she was processed and later released on uniform traffic tickets. Earl is due in Virgil Town Court next month.
