Around 8:20 in the morning on Friday July 21st, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Cortland Street in the Village of Homer for a welfare check of a woman inside a parked vehicle.
After arriving and interviewing the driver, 35 year old Amber L. Harris of Cortland, officer’s determined she was impaired by drugs. During her arrest officer’s also found she was in possession of a digital scale, packaging materials and controlled substances.
Harris was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd, all Misdemeanors. She was also charged with numerous violations.
She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office and later released with appearance tickets to Homer Town Court next month.
