Cortland Woman Arrested After Shoplifting at Shoe Dept. in Cortlandville

A Cortlandville woman was arrested following an investigation by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office back on March 6th around 3 in the afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office says around noon that day, officers responded to the Shoe Dept. on Bennie Road for a reported larceny.

An investigation determined 56 year old Marisa Edwards of Cortland, had stolen merchandise from the store. Edwards had fled from the store prior to the arrival of law enforcement. She was eventually located and arrested on the charge of Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor.

Edwards was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later released on an appearance ticket. She is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
