Cortland Woman Accused of Threatening Boyfriend With a Knife

A Cortland woman is facing charges following a domestic dispute.

Cortland Police says 27-year-old Alasha Barly of 44 Rickard Street was arrested early Tuesday morning.

Barly was charged with two counts of criminal mischief, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon; all misdemeanor charges.

Police say she was involved in a dispute with her boyfriend.

During the fight, Barly is accused of breaking his cell phone when the victim tried to use a landline to call for help she disconnected the phone.

Barly is also accused of threatening the man with a knife. She was ticketed and released.
