Senator Seward visited Cortland today (August 13th) at both the Family Health Network Administrative offices and the William George Agency campus.
In a ceremony that lasted about an hour, Seward received a Community Health Center Supporter Award this morning by officials from the Family Health Network at the Cortland Health Center on West Road.
The ceremony honored Seward’s commitment to primary healthcare and his longstanding support of local Health Centers.
“[Family Health Network] is such an important part of our healthcare delivery system here in this region of the state,” Seward said. “They provide good, quality healthcare to what otherwise is an under-served population. I’m delighted to be here during National Health Center Week to celebrate all that Family Health Network means to our area.”
Seward now looks forward to his visit at the William George Agency campus at around 1:00 this afternoon, where he will participate in the opening of its brand-new, 24-bed cottage that will house its Hard to Place Boys program.
Seward stated “that organization serves some very tough cases in terms of young people that need intensive services to succeed,” Seward said. “They do a great job there turning lives around and it is very important they continue to expand their services.”
