Cortland United Way Wraps Up Annual Campaign

Local News

There was a lot of gratitude for donors and volunteers Wednesday night at the 78th Annual Celebration of United Way for Cortland County.

Many gathered at Tinelli’s in Solon.

“Last night was a great opportunity to reflect on all the things that we’ve accomplished in the past year,” said United Way of Cortland County Executive Director Christella Yonta. “Our campaign, our fundraising efforts, all of the volunteers that have come and helped us out throughout the season.”

Yonta spoke with X101’s Bruce Eves.

“We had a fantastic momentum this year. We have a lot of people inspired to get involved with the United Way. We’re at about $350-thousand dollars raised in our community and that’s great support we’re seeing for all of our programs.”

She knows the next couple of months will be busy.

“We’ll be preparing to allocate our funds to community programs that are looking to address things like mentoring, food programs, early childhood programs, daycare assistance, health programs – all things that are much needed in our community.”

Money that helps programs that help our community.

Congratulations to this year’s Local Campaign Co-Chairs: Brenda and Nicole Cottone.
