The Cortland County SPCA has provided an update on an injured boxer puppy that was found in a ditch by a good samaritan back on October 14th. The SPCA says the puppy is still hospitalized at Cornell.
The puppies injuries are a mid-diaphyseal fracture of the left femur and a slipped physis on the right proximal femur. The SPCA says the puppy will need a plate on his left femur and a FHO (femoral head osteotomy) surgery on the right. Cost for the surgeries is between $5,000 and $7,000.
Donations are now being sought from the public to help the boxer puppy get his surgery and be able to make a full recovery. So far, over $3,600 has been raised so far. You can make a donation on the SPCA’s website HERE or by visiting their Facebook page.
