Solon Man Arrested for Rape; Released Due to Bail Reform

Back on July 2nd of this year the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a sex crime that occurred the day prior (July 1st) at a location in the Town of Solon.

Through an investigation by the Sheriff’s Department, officer’s found that 60 year old Charles R. Warren had inappropriate sexual contact with the victim, who Warren knew.

Warren was arrested on October 5th and charged with Rape in the 2nd degree, a felony. He was later released on his own recognizance.


Drunk Driver Nabbed by Sheriff Deputy

On Sunday, October 2nd around 1:30 in the morning, an officer from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on Route 13 in the Town of Cortlandville.

While conducting the stop officer’s discovered the operator of the vehicle, 35 year old Gregory R. Gleason of Cortland was intoxicated.

Officer’s arrested Gleason and charged him with DWI, Driving with .08 of one percent or more of alcohol, aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd degree, all misdemeanors as well as numerous infractions.

He was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later released on his own recognizance.


Woman Steals From Walmart; Found to be in Possession of Drugs

On Sunday evening, around 6:30pm the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department responded to Walmart in the Town of Cortlandville for another reported larceny.

When officers arrived they were able to determine the suspect, 34 year old Amber L. Harris of Cortlandville passed all points of sale in the store and stole merchandise from the store.

Through further investigation with Harris, officers found her to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She was then arrested and charged with Petit Larceny, Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, and Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd, all Class A Misdemeanors.

Harris was processed at the Sheriff’s Department and later released on her own recognizance with appearance tickets.
