Cortland CSD to name superintendent candidate

Local News

Board of Education members in Cortland City School District will name its next potential superintendent in a Zoom meeting planned for 3:00 this afternoon. The meeting can be accessed at that time using this link.

The search has been underway since February to replace Michael Hoose, after he announced in January that this year would be his last. Hoose took over in 2012 after four years as superintendent in Romulus.

Currently, there are no early hints on who the candidate may be, but WXHC spoke with an unnamed board member who said “everyone is very excited about it and many others in the community are going to be as well.”

Searching for a new superintendent included insight from faculty, staff and members of the community, with an original goal of having someone in place by July.

An official vote is still required from the Board of Education before the candidate named officially takes over.
