Cortland ReUse Still Seeking Donations After Organization Continues to Experience Roof Leaks
Cortland ReUse at the headquarters and retail store at the Homer Ave. Plaza at 186 Homer Ave. in Cortland is still experiencing “significant” roof leaks, which has been occurring for three months. Executive Director for Cortland ReUse, Carrie Narrow, says the organization has experienced recent store closures that accumulated to 10 days.
“The four living wage employees have performed admirably in attempting to mitigate this, but the bills continue to accrue including payroll which depends on the organization being open.”
Narrow said in a release to X101 News.
The closure led to product loss, lost revenue for the non-profit, and both interior and structural damage. Cortland ReUse is a locally run nonprofit where income streams are limited and the closure of the store itself while ensuring employees can remain being paid during the closure has put a financial strain on the organization.
The organization is now asking for public assistance through their Raise the Roof fund. Donations may be made online at ReUseCortland.org.
