We told you yesterday (December 18) the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign is off to a slow start this holiday season (more here), and today law enforcement agencies in Cortland County will do their part to help the cause.
Part of the Bells & Badges event, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office will be ringing bells today at Walmart from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Members of City Police will also be at the Riverside plaza from Noon to 8 p.m.
Stop by and see the blue and give whatever you can to the campaign, which supports the many community service programs offered locally by the Salvation Army.
These programs assist more than 225,000 Upstate New Yorkers year-round with things like warming centers for the homeless, anti-human trafficking programs, counseling for domestic abuse victims, after-school programs for children, and helping families escape poverty by addressing challenges, like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education.
